I’m not really sure what you would have to be into to really like this book 🙈 Maybe if you like old-timey erotica for purely the sake of literature appreciation, this book might be for you?!!! I’m conflicted with my rating because the literature was pleasant but the actual words I was reading were occasionally kinda disturbing. Some are relatively tame, like prostitution or infidelity, while others are, as stated above, not. The short stories vary in length from a few pages to ~100 pages 📚 And they are all distinct and directly encompass a taboo, erotic theme. like incest, child rape, regular rape, bestiality, genital mutilation, and necrophelia 💀💀💀💀 The stories are well written and artistic, however some of them are extremely uncool…. As a blanket statement, this book DID NOT age well 🙃 Nin wrote this collection of short stories in the 1930s for a private client, and it was published after her death in the 1970s. 😬 I honestly didn’t know what I was signing up for when I picked up this book.
